Cursor and VS Code - TryMCP

Your server’s Integration tab has a config for each client. Copy it, or use the examples below.

Cursor

Add this entry to .cursor/mcp.json in your project. Keep any existing servers.

Private servers

Replace the URL with your endpoint. For Unlisted, include its secret path. For API Key, add headers beside url inside the server entry:

Use this object as the value of headers. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key. Keep files with credentials out of version control. For OAuth, use the client’s sign-in flow for your provider. Enable the server in the client and check that your active tools appear.
