# Servers

> Create a server and manage its settings.

## Create a server

Open **Servers** in the [dashboard](https://app.trymcp.io). Click **Create Server** and fill in these fields:

| Field | What to enter |
| - | - |
| Title | A name with at least 5 characters |
| Description | A short description, if needed |
| Category | The closest match for your server |
| Subdomain | An available name using lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens |
| Rate Limit Per Minute | Your request limit |
| Security Type | Who can access the server |

Click **Create**. Copy the endpoint from the server page.

```text theme={null}
https://your-server.trymcp.io/mcp
```

Unlisted servers add a secret key to this URL. Use the full URL shown in the dashboard.

## Change settings

Click **Edit Server**. Update the fields you need and click **Update**.

Use the **Active** switch to enable or disable access. The server page also has a **Restart Server** action.

See [Security](/security) before changing access settings. Your clients may need a new URL or credentials.

## Custom domain

If your server already has a custom domain and your plan supports it, the server page shows its endpoint and SSL status.

Use **Check SSL** while setup is pending. Wait for the status to become active before using the domain.

The endpoint uses `/mcp`. For Unlisted access, include the secret path from your server URL.
